If you're chasing the Spooky Variant Collections, the Mini Seasons rewards are worth a look before you spend your MLB 26 stubs. The challenge offers four 99 OVR players: Clay Buchholz, Brian Roberts, Gary Sheffield, and Carlos Santana. Each base card can be paired with a Spooky Variant Voucher from Exchanges to unlock its Variant. That gives you a reason to play even if only one or two of the cards make your regular lineup. Pick them up here and you won't have to shop for those base versions later.
Picking Your Season
Mini Seasons is the more relaxed option if you'd rather face the CPU. You can choose three-inning or nine-inning games and play either a seven-game or 28-game season. The shorter setup is the obvious choice when you're squeezed for time; the longer one offers more total rewards but asks for a much bigger commitment. Lower difficulty can make games easier to get through, while higher settings offer more in-game XP. If one team keeps giving you trouble, try changing your lineup between games. A fresh matchup might help without throwing away your progress.
Making a Pitching Staff Work
Monster Smash is a different kind of weekend plan. It's online, and while your hitters aren't restricted, every pitcher must be Bronze or Common. Don't just grab the hardest throwers you can find. Look for control, a useful breaking pitch, and perhaps a changeup or sinker you're comfortable locating. You'll face plenty of hard contact, so keep relievers ready and don't wait too long to make a switch. A strong defensive catcher and shortstop can help limit the damage when the ball is put in play.
Where the Rewards Come From
Mini Seasons gives you XP, Stubs, packs, and the four featured cards. Monster Smash has its own program, with progress coming from wins and Event Missions. Its rewards include two Event Rewind Choice Packs, along with Deluxe and Premier Choice Packs. Missed an earlier event card Those Rewind packs are a good reason to check the reward path. For your batting order, bring power hitters who can also make contact against pitchers from either side. If you've already earned the Spooky Sosa or McGwire cards, they're worth trying here.
Make Each Session Count
There's plenty competing for your time, including the World Series Program and Ranked 9. Try Mini Seasons first if you want the four cards, then set aside a block for online games. Keep an eye on missions that count hits or home runs, too. Even a loss can move you closer to a reward. Check your MLB The Show 26 stubs before and after playing, and compare market prices before selling duplicate cards. That way, you can see which activities are giving your squad the best return.
